Choosing the right real estate agent could mean the difference between getting a good house and an average house. The choice solely rests on your shoulder and what you have to realize that all real estate agents may look the same but they are not. Most agent charge the same fee and most offer the same services. However, in reality the difference between different agents is vast. Buyers who do not try and find the right agent could end up losing thousands of dollars on account of bad advice.

Some of the questions you should pose are how long has the agent has his / her license, whether they are part time or full time, whether they have won any awards, and how you can contact them even after working hours. Above all, try and determine whether the agent is a good listener. You need an agent who can contact whenever you want and who has paid attention to you while you were explaining the type of house you are looking for.
Once you have zeroed on the kind of real estate agent you would like to have, work out the details on the contract. If you are buying a house, the real estate agent should be a buyer’s agent. A buyer’s agent works solely for the buyer and represents the buyer’s interests.
